Self-Producing for Artists & Ensembles:

Collaboration Agreements & Contract Basics

Led by the TEAM’s Producing Director Manda Martin and industry guests, our self-producing series continues this spring, with more workshops about the business side of making and sustaining your work. Each two-hour session is a peer-to-peer discussion over drinks--your registration fee includes your first beer or beverage of choice.

Monday, May 1
7-9pm

Making new work collaboratively—whether you’re a 15 member devised ensemble like the TEAM, or a small group of artists working together on one project—can get tricky when it comes to articulating everyone’s ownership of the final work. With theatre agent Di Glazer from ICM Partners, we’ll look at a template agreement and unpack the how and why of drafting your own. We’ll also take your questions on other kinds of contracts for making and presenting your work, and working with an agent as an individual artist or ensemble.

Barter
We’re holding one seat in each workshop for an equivalent number of volunteer hours instead of the full registration fee. Requests for barter should be emailed to hello@theteamplays.org, with "Workshop Fee Barter" in the subject heading. Barter offers will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis, and participants must commit to an agreed schedule for volunteer hours prior to attending the class.

Cancellations and Refund Policy
The TEAM reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any workshop at any time. In the event of a canceled workshop, the TEAM will notify all registered participants immediately, and provide either a full refund or credit to be used for a later workshop.

Participants who submit a written request to withdraw from a workshop at least 7 days in advance of the workshop start date are eligible for a full refund, less an administrative fee to cover processing charges. Requests to withdraw 2-7 days prior to the start of a workshop are eligible for a 50% refund of the original fee, less administrative fee. Refunds for cancellations made within 2 days of a workshop are at the sole discretion of the TEAM. Absolutely NO REFUNDS will be issued on or after the start date of the workshop.
