Self-Producing for Artists & Ensembles:

Monday, November 14

Budgeting is an unavoidable part of making work, applying for grants, and sustaining a company. But the process doesn’t have to be daunting. Led by TEAM Producing Director Manda Martin and Associate Producer Lucy Jackson, with guest expert Nate Koch, in this workshop we’ll walk through the TEAM’s own operating and project budgets, discussing how to budget for project development and production, allocating resources effectively, and strategies for financial decision-making. We’ll solicit your questions in advance of the workshop to help guide our discussion.

Nate Koch is a Drama Desk-award winning producer and GM of non-traditional theatrical productions and institutions, branded experiences, and hospitality projects. After a stint on Broadway and in the not-for-profit sector, he was part of the producing and management teams of Sleep No MoreNatasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 (Ars Nova), andQueen of the Night. He opened his own company, ENVEEKAY, in 2016 and is currently the executive producer of an upcoming site-specific revival of Sweeney Todd at Barrow Street Theatre.

We’re holding one seat in each workshop for an equivalent number of volunteer hours instead of the full registration fee. Requests for barter should be emailed to hello@theteamplays.org, with "Workshop Fee Barter" in the subject heading. Barter offers will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis, and participants must commit to an agreed schedule for volunteer hours prior to attending the class.
